“After plans had been drawn and planning permission sought, the task of finding a reliable and trustworthy builder to transform our vision into reality began. After meeting 4 different builders we decided on Hindley Contractors, not because any of the others were bad, but because we liked both Mark and Joe (Father and son) from the first meeting. They were professional, honest, kind and had great experience in the building trade. After the quote had been agreed and a starting date set, Hindley took no time at all to prepare the site ready for excavation and build.
Throughout the build, the tradesmen on site were fantastic, they worked very hard and always had our best interests at heart, especially as we were still living in the house whilst the extension was going ahead. The build phase was led by an extremely competent and experienced bricklayer and it was not long before we could see the extension coming to life, large steel supports were installed with ease, nothing phased them. They were tidy, neat and worked in all weathers, we couldn’t have wished for a better start.
When the roof on the inside started to take shape, the team of plumbers, carpenters and plasterers were amazing. Throughout the whole process Joe and/or Mark would regularly pop in to check all was going well and to check if we were happy with the work, it was lovely to be asked in person and via email so we never felt out of the loop. Nothing was ever too much bother and if we wanted something changing or adding, Joe and his team would sort it out, nothing ever felt like too much trouble to them. As our build was slightly more unique with some funny angles and elevations, when there were any problems or issues along the way they were sorted out and solutions found with speed.
Hindley were in contact with our architect and structural engineers when needed which really helped. In terms of the inside Joe recommended electricians and kitchen fitters and we found them to all be equally as professional and reliable. After 6 months the extension was complete and we could decorate and move in to the new part of the house. Now we are in, it has been the best thing we have ever done, it is a scary prospect when you spend your hard earned savings on home improvements but Hindley have made it completely stress free. I would recommend them to anyone looking to extend their home in any way. “
